Rick is the former Chief Supply Chain Officer for The Clorox Company (Clorox), a $7.41B global consumer packaged good company. He led the global supply chain and advises executive leaders and boards of directors on market-facing challenges, including crisis management related to the global supply chain, procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, quality assurance and people leadership.
At Clorox, Rick focused on 2 key objectives during the pandemic: keeping his people safe and healthy and running his plants to deliver life-saving disinfecting products to consumers worldwide. Most recently, he transformed his global team from a “just-in-time” mindset to a “just-in-case” mindset—a significant change for this mature and complex company.
In addition to his role at Clorox, Rick supports the industry by serving on boards of directors for several organizations. He is a member of the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Advisory Board. Additionally he serves on the Executive Advisory Boards of Cleo, ketteQ and PopCapacity.com.
Previously, he was a Board Advisor for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), where he addressed critical issues facing the integrity and resiliency of the global supply chain. Rick has also served as an Advisor for the boards of other industry groups including the Chlorine Institute, Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool (CHEP), and the National Barbeque & Grilling Association (NBBQA).
From a governance perspective, Rick helps boards exercise their fiduciary duty by mitigating risk in some of the most complicated regions of the world during the most challenging economic conditions of modern times while helping the business maintain its market positioning and profitability.
Rick is a renowned subject matter expert and industry thought leader on supply chain and leadership podcasts and is a regular guest on the Supply Chain Now podcast. He was an invited speaker at Supply Chain Insights’ annual Supply Chains to Admire awards forum and is sought by boards seeking market growth in one of the most complex markets in recent history.
Recognizing his leadership performance, Rick has garnered a notable list of industry awards, including Top 10 Chief Supply Chain Officers in 2022 by Logistics Tech and Supply Chains to Admire 2022 by Supply Chain insights.
